We are a New Zealand family owned and operated Paihia fishing charter company based in the stunning seaside village of Paihia in the scenic Bay of Islands, Northland. Paihia is approximately 3 hours’ drive north of Auckland, and a 1 hour drive north of Whangarei.

Great day out on water with Derek. Also had my 7 year boy with us and skipper was great with him helping him land good size snaps. I got 2 fish over 10 pound which we released and still took home a mean feed.
My partner and I had a very successful day out on the water thanks to Derek. His local knowledge shown through. First with putting us on the bait instantly then finding snapper on our first drift. We managed to get a good haul of fish as well as seeing a good amount of the surrounding islands.
His Surtees 650 game fisher was simply a joy to be in. Big, comfortable and accommodating.
I personally know that if I’m ever back in NZ I’ll be making a little detour back up north to fish with #BigFishBayOfIslands It was a pleasure Captain.

Caught my first couple of really serious sized Snapper’s seconds after the Anchor hit the bottom and was hooked from then on. An awesome trip!
Fishing bucket list: Kingfish – tick, Snapper – tick. We had a great day out. Good boat, good gear, good company. Would do it again!
